Dr. Matthew Craig was born and raised in Simcoe. His father, Michael, was a principal and his mother, Susan, a teacher in the local separate school board. He attended St. Joseph's School and Simcoe Composite School. He studied sciences at the University of Western Ontario before being accepted into the optometry program at the University of Waterloo.
As part of his studies, he completed an ocular health externship at Houston Eye Associates in Houston, Texas. He graduated from optometry school on the Dean's Honour List in 1996. Upon graduation he received the Vistakon Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care award. Dr. Craig has experience working throughout Canada. He spent time working in Vernon, B.C. and, for five years, did northern locum work in Thompson, Manitoba.
He now resides in Port Dover and is proud to serve Norfolk with a top quality eye care experience.
